Galveston County MUD #12’s Drought Contingency Plan consists of 4 Stages:

Stage 1:

Reduce daily water demand by 5%. To be accomplished by VOLUNTARY water conservation by customers. Customers are requested to voluntarily limit the watering of lawns. Addresses ending in 0,2,4,6 or 8 should water on Sundays and Thursdays.

Addresses ending in 1,3,5,7 or 9 should water on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

The hours to water are 4:00 a.m to 9:00 am and 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm on designated watering days.

Stage 2:

Reduce daily water demand by 10%.  IMPLEMENTED
To be accomplished by MANDATORY  water use restrictions by customers, with threat of penalty for violation. CITATIONS MAY BE ISSUED.

Customers are required to limit the watering of lawns. Same water schedule to be followed as in Stage 1.

Customers with Sprinkler Systems, swimming pools  must adhere to these hours.  NON ESSENTIAL USE OF WATER IS PROHIBITED AT THIS STAGE.

Stage 3:

Reduce daily water demand by 15%. IMPLEMENTED

To be accomplished by the continuation of  Stage 2 MANDATORY requirements during Stage 3 except: THE USE OF HOSE-END SPRINKLERS IS PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES.

Stage 4:

Reduce daily water demand by 25%. IMPLEMENTED- November 14, 2018

All MANDATORY requirements of Stages 2 and 3 shall remain in effect during Stage 4 except: NO OUTSIDE USE PERMITTED.
